As Rotary International approached its one hundredth birthday, special activites were planned to celebrate 100 years of Rotary. One of the tasks that was taken up in Rotary International District 3270, comprising Afghanistan and Pakistan was to form CENTENNIAL clubs to further enhance the image of Rotary.
For this task Rotary International District 3270 Governor Rauf Rohailla selected Rotarian Aziz Memon, Past President Rotary Club of Karachi as Governor's Special Representative to form the Rotary Club of Karachi Centennial - a club that would be a role model for other clubs in the district.
Rtn. Aziz Memon took along with him Past President Navaid M. Khan, a Rotarian since 1980 and Past President Dr. Sabiha N. Khan, former Chairman of International Inner Wheel District 3270 comprising Pakistan and a Rotarian since 1998 to crystallize the Rotary Governor's dream of a club with a difference.
Fellow rotarians of the Rotary Club of Karachi Centennial,
We must always remember the reason why this club was formed; to help others wherever and whenever possible. Over the years Rotary International has come with many themes and slogans but for me the one that best describes the rotary spirit is Service above Self. In addition to thinkers and planners we are also do-oers. People of action! As community volunteers, we make an investment of our time and money to reach out to people in need. We build, support and organize. We build friendships locally and globally. I believe J.W. Withers say it best "What people do for themselves dies with them. What they do for their community lives on forever." This holds true for our club and all Rotarians through out the world.
I am looking forward to a very rewarding year and what we can achieve working together.
Rahat Zahid Khan
President

Our health is everything. Yet 400 million people in the world can’t afford or don’t have access to basic health care. We believe good health care is everyone’s right.
Clean water and sanitation is a human right. When people, especially children, have access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene, they lead healthier and more successful lives.
Conflict and violence displace millions of people each year. Half of those killed in conflict are children, and 90 percent are civilians.
Clean water and sanitation is a human right. When people, especially children, have access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene, they lead healthier and more successful lives.
Rotary makes high-quality health care available to vulnerable mothers and children so they can live longer and grow stronger.
More than 775 million people over the age of 15 are illiterate. That’s 17 percent of the world’s adult population.
Rotary unites more than a million people Through Rotary clubs, people from all continents and cultures come together to exchange ideas, and form friendships and professional connections while making a difference in their backyards and around the world.
We take action locally and globally Each day, our members pour their passion, integrity, and intelligence into completing projects that have a lasting impact. We persevere until we deliver real, lasting solutions.
No challenge is too big for us For more than 110 years, we’ve bridged cultures and connected continents to champion peace, fight illiteracy and poverty, promote clean water and sanitation, and fight disease.
Rotary is an international community that brings together leaders who step up to take on the world’s toughest challenges, locally and globally. The eradication of polio is one of our longest standing and most significant efforts. Along with our partners, we have helped immunize more than 2.5 billion children against polio in 122 countries. We have reduced polio cases by 99.9 percent worldwide and we won't stop until we end the disease for good.
